Glen Heald is a multi instrumental singer / songwriter who was born in Australia and took up the Guitar after hearing Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Roy Buchanan, Santana and Robin Trower. He had the good fortune to study Jazz in Tasmania with Jim Lade (who had studied at Berklee college of music). After completing an Associate diploma in Jazz/Rock he led the first of many original bands and started playing Flute, Banjo, Blues harp and Chapman Stick.

In 1992 Glen established the first fully contemporary music course in Darwin Australia. In 2001 he started performing with the Australian Aboriginal singer songwriter Shellie Morris, recording and producing her CD "Waiting Road". Glen composed the acoustic music for the Aboriginal film "Merrepen" in 2005. Toured Europe with Shellie Morris in 2007 and performed at the Sydney Opera House in 2008.

Glen produced the music for the Aboriginal film "In a League of their own" in 2009 and produced and released his debut album and his second album in 2010. In December 2013 Glen produced and released his third studio album "Outsider".2015 saw the release of Glen's fourth studio album "The Hanged Man" with his brother Dave Heald on Bass. The album fuses progressive rock and funk with slide guitar, blues harp.

In 2017 Glen released the album "Marrawah". The album contain six instrumental tracks in a progressive rock format and two vocal tracks one of which is a reggae track. The album also contains two tracks that highlight Glen's ability to improvise guitar solos in a electric Hendrix style and his acoustic finger style guitar. Dave Heald once again provides tight and heavy electric bass lines on Marrawah locking in to the John Bonham style drums.

2018 Glen released his sixth studio album "Acoustic Guitar Culture". The album is a contemporary folk album that focuses on Glens ability to arrange and construct melodic and harmonic ideas in a Acoustic setting with instruments such as Spanish guitar, Baritone guitar, Resonator guitar, flute, violin and banjo.

Dave Heald-BIO - Electric Bass Player

Dave Heald has been the electric bass player of choice on four of Glen Heald's internationally released studio albums. These include Outsider, The Hanged Man, Marrawah and The Best of 2010-2015. Born in Tasmania Dave Heald began playing bass at 16 years of age and has performed with numerous original bands in Australia. On Glen's albums Dave Heald shows his considerable ability at providing solid heavy and melodic bass lines that allow room for the guitar and drums to breath, think John Paul jones of Led Zeppelin, Roger Glover from Deep purple or Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath and you get the idea. Dave also has a great knowledge of Blues, Hard rock progressive and 90's rock music and has made it his mission to learn as much about electric bass as possible. In addition Dave can double on guitar when needed as he has a great knowledge of chords, songs and riffs in his extensive repertoire.
